To say times are challenging would be an understatement and we at The Community Schools fully understand how difficult it can be for children to deal with changes in their usual routine. We also appreciate that as parents, many of you will be concerned about their learning, particularly if you’re struggling to fit in working from home while supervising work sent home by schools.
With that in mind, we’ve adapted our usual face to face teaching sessions and are now carrying out all tuition online. Tutoring is available for Key Stage 2 up to A Level and takes place using a specialist online tutoring platform, which allows us to communicate and interact in real time. Sessions run for 75 minutes with a choice of three time slots each day:
A maximum of two students will be in the session, with shared access to the tutor, each student taught on a one to one basis with their specific educational needs taken into account. Our online programme runs on a rolling four-week cycle so you can join at any time. And because it’s just four weeks at a time, you can manage your budget, and extend to a further four weeks at your choice.
We have tutors covering all the key subjects – maths, science and English as well as French and German. We also offer tuition in GCSE and A-Level psychology and GCSE Computer Science. As before, we focus on each student’s individual needs, providing support where necessary.
But most importantly, focusing on lessons with 1-1 tutor support can help inject a little bit of normality for children and families during this uncertainty. It also means students have the tools, motivation and encouragement to keep learning.
